Granite Finish & Application Guide

Use this guide to match granite finishes with kitchens, flooring, outdoor zones, and commercial projects. Each finish changes durability, slip resistance, and maintenance effort.

Polished finish

Best for kitchens, wall cladding, and premium interiors. Polished surfaces highlight color movement and are easiest to clean, but can be slippery when wet.

Honed finish

Matte surface that reduces glare and hides minor scratches. Requires extra sealing and works well for low-glare kitchens and office interiors.

Leather finish

Textured surface with a soft sheen, ideal for statement counters and feature walls. It needs regular cleaning but offers a premium tactile feel.

Flamed finish

Rough, slip-resistant surface for outdoor and wet zones. Excellent for driveways, patios, and pool decks, with lower reflectivity.

Finish-to-application map

Kitchens

Polished or honed for low maintenance. Avoid flamed surfaces on counters.

Outdoor zones

Flamed and leather finishes for grip and weather resistance.

Staircases

Honed or leather with anti-slip edge detailing for safety.

Commercial interiors

Polished or honed depending on glare, foot traffic, and cleaning schedules.

CNC and edge work

CNC edge profiling and cut-to-size work impact both aesthetics and cost. Provide your layout early so slabs are cut to minimize seams and waste.
